Target Inc. is planning on opening their first Athletic Sportswear Store. It will be a stand-alone retail location under the C9 Apparel Name. San Francisco will be the location of the 3000 square foot space. The store will stock an exclusive line of C9 Apparel by Champion Collection. The store will offer a full assortment of athletic apparel and gear for men and women, including everything from running shorts and yoga pants to sports bras, water bottles and yoga mats. While pricing information for the new store isn't yet available, items in the C9 by Champion line at Target currently retail for under $50.
Also coming down the pipeline from Target is their smaller concept store called City Target. The first City Target will also debut in San Francisco.
You may remember back in the winter of 2011, there was a lot of buzz floating around regarding Target buying 220 Zellers locations across Canada for an estimated 1.8 Billion and Change.
Word is that they plan on opening 100 to 150 Target Stores across Canada some time in 2013-2014. There is no word on plans for the smaller City Target and C9 Sportswear stores in Canada yet.
