Wick Winder Distribution has just announced that they will be the core market distribution channel for the recently launched accessory brand HEX. This brand was on our radar back in January. We are glad to see it go to a good home in Canada. National Sales & Marketing Manager Scott Murray-Burrows comented, "Hex is a quality brand. We look forward to an amazing relationship. Launched in 2010, HEX is a division of August Accessories, a 21 year old company known for its design,
development and execution of innovative fashion accessories products. August Accessories products can be found in major store chains around the world under its own labels and private label for other world-renowned brands. By utilizing this extensive experience in street wear and modern fashion, HEX draws on the strength of August Accessories’ history and channels it in an innovative new direction.
Founders Dan Maravilla and Trent Valladares met in their high-school years in Southern California. Both musicians, they cut their teeth in the performance and marketing of musical groups in Los Angeles. After years in the music and art scene, they decided to work together in a small, startup, family business that grew into August Accessories. Over time spent designing and marketing for various brands under license their interest in defining their own brand and statement grew. In 2010, that brand was born, and that brand is HEX.
“HEX’S goal is to connect technology with fashion by pairing gadgets with unique and attractive solutions” says Maravilla. “Products are designed with equal parts fashion and tech-readiness in their DNA.” Take the HEX watchbands for example; available in plastic, leather and metal variations and are designed to hold an iPod Nano that can be worn just like a watch.
The HEX line, which also includes an extensive selection of computer-ready backpacks, tote’s, messenger bags and sleeves, is perfect for the connected generation. HEX also offers iPhone wallets, case protectors and the popular ‘Solo Wallet’ iPhone/cardholder.
Valladares adds, “It’s a new time.” “One where our lives and our electronics are intertwined.” “We live in a world where our electronics are not novelties, but necessities – as much a part of our style and personality as our clothing or our taste in music.”
