Left to right: Parkitect board, Genesis EST binding, Ion boot
The 2012-13 Burton hardgoods line consists of 55 boards separate models, 37 bindings and 34 boots. Yes, we counted and then doubled checked. It’s probably safe to say that Burton has all the bases covered when it comes to getting you on the hill.
Highlights? The Parkitect is designed to bring a whole new meaning to “park board”. It was designed specifically around the needs of park riders and offers two new Burton Technologies that perfectly match the shape of the board to the way you ride. The Ion’s new outsole is the result of a partnership with Pirelli, the Italian brand that supplies tires to F1 racing team. They formulated a rubber compound specifically around the demands of riding, along with a snow tire-inspired tread design for superior traction. After the introduction of our Hammock hi-back in 2012, we got super positive feedback from our team on the fit, comfort, and response this technology offers. So for 2013, we’re following up with the next generation hammock hi-back design called the Kick-Back Hammock, which features a full-suspension design. The new Kick-Back Hammock, found on the new Genesis EST, is by far one of the best hi-backs we have designed to date.
